Garlic Herb Cheese Quick Bread
Ingredients
4 cups self-rising flour
3 teaspoons granulated sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
2¼ cups milk, warmed
¼ cup garlic-infused olive oil
1 cup shredded Italian cheese blend
Garlic Oil Substitute: If you don't have garlic-infused olive oil, use ¼ cup regular olive oil and add ½ teaspoon garlic powder to the dry ingredients.
Instructions
Preheat oven to 430°F. Grease a 9 × 5-inch loaf pan and line it with parchment paper, leaving some overhang on the sides for easy removal.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the self-rising flour, sugar, salt, Italian seasoning, and black pepper. If using regular olive oil instead of garlic-infused olive oil, add the garlic powder at this point.
Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients. Pour in the warmed milk and garlic-infused olive oil. Stir until the flour is just incorporated and a thick batter forms. Do not overmix.
Add the shredded Italian cheese blend and gently fold it into the batter just until evenly distributed.
Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly. Smooth the top with a spatula.
Bake at 430°F for 30 minutes.
Remove the loaf from the oven and loosely cover the top with aluminum foil. Reduce the oven temperature to 390°F.
Return the loaf to the oven and bake, covered, for another 20 minutes, or until cooked through.
Let the bread cool in the pan for about 5 minutes, then remove it from the pan and transfer it to a wire rack.
Let the bread cool for at least 45 minutes before slicing.
